Smashwords, who have set up a really easy-to-use self-publishing service for ebooks, encourage you to put a large sample of your book on the market for free as a sample to encourage people to buy the whole thing.
So that’s what I have done. Go to the Smashwords Beneath Gray Skies page, and download the sample (all popular formats supported). Read it – if you like it, come back and buy the whole book ($3). You can also download (free) a complete short story of mine, Keiko’s House.
