OK, this has got to be quite short, because I’m due out of the house reasonably soon. Facebook… “You must go on Facebook… Great way to promote yourself and your book.”
Sure, but… Sorry, the interface is a load of steaming wombat doo. What’s a Wall, why does it differ from my home? Why can’t I rearrange things in lists? Etc. etc. etc. Why does it constantly intrude with suggestions for friends that I don’t know and maybe have no interest in knowing? I’ll choose my own friends, thank you. And “friends”? Hmmm….
However, it is quite useful for finding like-minded groups, and as a result I have got two reviews in steampunk magazines lined up as the result of 2 weeks on Facebook, and I’m making the acquaintance of various other authors.
But compared to the simplicity and ease of use of Twitter, Facebook sucks (dead rotting whales through a straw).
